Danny Brown‘s had a pretty great last couple of years. The Detroit MC’s early days were marked by struggle, but since his breakthrough release, 2011’s XXX, he’s been at the top of his game. He proved XXX was no fluke with last year’s follow-up, Old, featuring one of our favorite singles of the year, “Dip.” Now Street Corner Music is about to release an expanded version of his 2008 mixtape, Hot Soup, on double vinyl with a special bonus 45. You know things are going well for an artist when labels want to re-release a recording that was free on the internet six years ago. It’s worth paying for, too, especially if this bonus alternate version of “Contra,” produced by Apollo Brown, is any indication:

Danny Brown’s live performances are legendary for their energy and anything-can-happen intensity, so when he takes the stage at The Jefferson Theater, you can be sure you’re going to get a show! Get stoked for it by watching the official tour trailer below, and we’ll see you there!
