Bokeh Bouquet: new work from Ian M. Graham

by | Mar 12, 2010 | COMMUNITY

I took these pictures in various states while wandering around Portland, Oregon with a salacious and incredibly talented rapscallion named Eriq Nelson (featured on the cover of RVA’s most recent issue, “Snow Days”). I shot using an extremely low aperture, resulting in low depth of field, hence the name of the series. Bokeh comes from Boke, a Japanese word referring to “clarity in the void” or simply “blur.” Portland’s flora wasn’t anywhere near full bloom, however, what blossoms were available gained my attention day and night. I hope you enjoy them! There’s plenty more of my work on my website here.
