2015 Friday Cheers line up announced

This summer will be the 31st season of Friday Cheers, a Richmond tradition that brings together a variety of bands to RVA’s Brown’s Island every Friday night for two months.


This summer will be the 31st season of Friday Cheers, a Richmond tradition that brings together a variety of bands to RVA’s Brown’s Island every Friday night for two months.

Depending on the show, tickets will be $5 or $10 for more than three hours of music nd it all starts May 1st. Local, national, and brand new bands take the stage and add a unique flavor to the city.

There are three ways to enter Brown’s Island (literally, walkways), and Cash, Mastercard and Visa are accepted, but only two of the entryways can accept debit or credit cards. There will also be food and drinks at every show to compliment your entertainment.

▪ May 1 – Shakey Graves and Yarn, $5.

▪ May 8 – Jason Isbell with Horsehead, $10.

▪ May 15-17 – Dominion Riverrock, featuring Greensky Bluegrass and Blues Traveler, FREE.

▪ May 22 – RVA Music Night featuring Richmond bands: Bio Ritmo, The Milkstains and Honkytonk Heroes, $5.

▪ May 29 – Moon Taxi with Sleepwalkers, $5.

▪ June 5 – Future Islands with White Laces, $10.

▪ June 12 – Hurray for the Riff Raff and Joe Pug, $10.

▪ June 19 – Snarky Puppy with Butcher Brown, $10.

· June 26 –The Wood Brothers and Son Little, $10.

You can buy advance tickets for individual shows or season passes here.

Season passes cost $40 from March 5th to April 1st and $50 after. Children under 12 are free but pets aren’t allowed.
