‘All In’ Art Show Came Out of Nowhere, and That’s Still The Vibe

by | Jun 10, 2025 | ART, COMMUNITY, CULTURE, MUSIC

It started in a living room. Not a gallery, not a venue — just the house of Richmond artist Jered Fykes. A few friends hung their work on the walls, invited people over, and had a good time. Honestly, that’s how most real art scenes begin. That was back in 2018.

Now, it’s a little more organized. The All In Art Show returns for its fourth round this Saturday, June 14, turning a corner of Scott’s Addition into a full-on art hang — complete with a killer soundtrack.

At its heart, All In hasn’t changed much. Still a group of friends putting in the work. Still fueled by curiosity, and a belief that maybe the best things in this city are the ones you build yourself. What’s grown is the scale—30-plus artists, 15 musical acts, and a full day that feels like stepping into the reason you moved to Richmond—or stayed. A community of people building something together, and showing up for each other while they do it.

The lineup spans disciplines and generations. You’ll see names you recognize—Wing Chow, Chr!s Visions, Nico Cathcart, HUMBLE, Silly Genius—and plenty you don’t yet, working in paint, glass, digital, and a few mediums that don’t have names yet. What ties it all together isn’t style or medium—it’s commitment. These are artists who stayed, who developed their practice here, who chose to invest in Richmond instead of waiting for it to invest in them.

Music moves through the day like a second current. From Shormey to Juda Wilo, the soundtrack keeps shifting— experimental, danceable, unpredictable. Some sets will stop you in your tracks. Others might just score your conversation, or blend into the background while you’re deep into a plate from 1115 Mobile Kitchen.

Brought together by Bingo Beer Co., Broad Street Bullies, and us at RVA Mag, the All In Art Show isn’t trying to be the next big-ticket festival. It’s not about hype. It’s about showing up, making space, and letting creative energy fill it.

So come by. No dress code, no pretense. Bring a friend, buy some art, stay for the music.

When Mark Szafranski bought the building at 117 West Broad Street in 1991, the property was in disrepair. Water seeped from the upper floors, the windows were falling in, and downtown Richmond was, at the time, more forgotten than revitalized. But Szafranski, a...
