We made it down to SXSW this year to cover our favorite RVA bands (more on that tomorrow) and see what else was going on. What we found hanging out in the SXSW madness was Flatstock 43, a show dedicated to the gig poster. We found ourselves in an art nerd’s wet dream and had to check it out. Here is a wide sample of the best that Flatstock had to offer.

In 2005, I created RVA Magazine, and I'm still at the helm as its publisher. From day one, it’s been about pushing the “RVA” identity, celebrating the raw creativity and grit of this city. Along the way, we’ve hosted events, published stacks of issues, and, most importantly, connected with a hell of a lot of remarkable people who make this place what it is.
