First Fridays Artwalk down on Broad Street to brighten up your day.

Here are a few picks from this month’s roundup that we thought you should check out:

RVA East End Music Festival:

Tonight wiil kick off the three-day “>RVA East End Music Festival, highlighting the diverse neighborhoods of the city’s East End. Performances by NO BS Brass Band!, the Richmond Symphony, and J.O.B., Richmond Urban Dance, Richmond Men’s Chorus and more. Proceeds from the festival will go to support music edcuation in Richmond City Public Schools. Chimborazo Park, 3200 E. Broad Street. Free.

“Geo Necro” at Ada Gallery

Opening this week, the “Geo Necro” exhibit at Ada Gallery explores fantasy, magic and role-playing games. It brings artworks by 86 national and international contemporary artists together to create a fantastic, collectively imagined dungeon. These artists were invited to representing things found in the halls and catacombs of “Geo-Necro,” resulting in a collection of 150 small artworks.

Dialogue Richmond No. 2 Launch Party

Dialogue Richmond, a new publication launched by a VCU student which highlights young creatives in the city, will release its second issue tonight with a party at Endeavor RVA. There willbe pop up shops by No Stone Collective and Join or Die Knives and music by OZARK. 316 Brook Rd.

“Richmond Famous” at the Coalition Theater

“Richmond Famous” is The Coalition Theater’s bi-monthly improv series with comedy routines, insipred by true stories, created on the spot.

Indie PhotoBook Showcase at Candela Books and Gallery

Head out to Candela Books and Gallery this evening to check out some cool work from indie photographers. The showcase will feature a compelling selection of work from eleven well-crafted, self-published and small press photography books. Opening Reception: Friday, May 6th, 5-9pm. PhotoBook Fair: Saturday, May 7th, 1-5pm. Panel Discussion: Saturday, May 7th, 5-9pm. 214 W. Broad St.
