Local muralist Hamilton Glass has made plenty of waves locally here in Richmond, but his work hasn’t stopped there – most recently he flew out to San Francisco to paint a mural inside the content-aggregator Stumbleupon‘s corporate offices.

Glass said he got the gig through an agency, and he was one of 35 possible muralists selected for the project. Obviously his talent put him at the top of the pile.

“The job was to create a piece that would bring creativity and inspiration to their recreation area,” Glass said about the artistic license they gave him heading into the piece. “The theme and concept was totally up to me they just had to give the approval on the final design.”

Notice the use of Stumbleupon’s signature “thumbs up/Thumbs down” icons incorporated into the design. He worked fast, getting final design approval essentially the day he arrived in San Fran when he arrived. He finished the 25′ x 9′ piece in two days.

“Stunbleupon was amazing company to work with and were very hospitable to me during my time in San Francisco,” said Glass via email as he waited for the last leg of his flight home to RVA. “I’m extremely honored to be picked by them to do work in their space and I hope they enjoy it!”

Check out more of Glass’s work on instagram and on his website.
