Dry Cleaning chose to return to Howard Theatre three years after their first ever stop in our nation's capital. An eclectic queue formed around the theatre, with businessmen, grunge folk, and families all lining up for a rather unconventional headliner. The scheduling...
If Pee Wee Herman was roommates with Sherlock Holmes and an LSD-powered robot, Révéler / Orbital Music Park would be their dream home. You may not know the place but you’ve def seen it. It’s the black and gold spot in Carytown with giant skeletons outside. I took three guesses as to what I was looking at from my drivers-side window in typical...
There wasn't much red, white, and blue at Daddy's Grotto on the 4th of July, but there were plenty of cool queer people in bathing suits. They then played the original song, which was just an emo cover of Bags by Clairo. When I asked them to explain this ongoing bit, I...
Richmond serves as a breeding ground for artists of all kinds, and in the modern world, it often isn’t enough to be stellar at one particular thing. The talented people who make up the production company BOOC, and the artists that work with them, have taken this sentiment to heart. A multimedia production company, BOOC founders Chris Scholar and...
With Friday Cheers gone until next year, music junkies are going to have to do a little heavy lifting to find their consistent Summertime afternoon jams.
