“I hate missed connections. It all just seems kind of pathetic.” That is a direct quote from one of our Missed Connections this week, which ultimately, ended with them willing to give it a shot.

“I hate missed connections. It all just seems kind of pathetic.” That is a direct quote from one of our Missed Connections this week, which ultimately, ended with them willing to give it a shot. That ladies and gentlemen is the theme of this week’s Missed Connections: despair, hopelessness, and self-embarrassment in the face of hardships (it’s really hard to face yourself after letting Joe Blow walk down the street without saying hi).
Check out this week’s Missed Connections below

You forgot your clip board – m4w (Powhatan)

tou clean my house every other week. Wow are you sexy!!!!
I can’t take my eyes off you.
You forgot your clipboard. When you came back to look for it I had some dirty thoughts!!!
I was gonna say the timing couldn’t have been better if we had planned it. The baby is napping.
Wish you could’ve stayed longer. Maybe if you see this and are interested then email me back.

Send me and email with something about me or my home as the subject

Awww fabs… (all alone)

All alone in “paradise” and having to take selfies because no one is with you to share the “fabulous” times you have, except your Facebook “peeps” as you like to call them. Still as pathetic as ever, I see. As you want people to believe you are loving your great and wonderful life, all we see is “lonely loser” in every bragging Facebook post you make. The black and white app works great on that lobster red face. And yes, you’ve made it clear how you love your wine. Hell any “adult beverage” will do for you. Oh and.the teeth whitening app works wonders for those stained teeth… when you keep it INSIDE your lips. It’s kinda tell tale when the white is on your lips. Jesus Christ what a joke you are. Richmond isn’t missing you for sure.

Nurse at Lowes – m4w (Short Pump)

No shot in hell this works, but I’ll try anyway. This was probably a month ago, maybe longer. You had blue scrubs on, dark hair, thin, probably a little older than me (I’m 28) and gorgeous. We kept running into each other in different isles, and exchanging smiles. You seemed interested but I was too stupid to act on the attraction. So now I’m here throwing up a Hail Mary. If you think this was you send me a message and we’ll go from there.

Big guy, plaid shirt, corner store – m4m

We were both looking at beer. Actually, I had already decided what I was going to get and was looking at you.

I hate missed connections. It all just seems kind of pathetic. But I keep thinking about how sweet you seemed and need to put out there that I was attracted to the way you look and carry yourself. You probably didn’t notice me at all, but I needed to give it a shot. If by some strange chance you noticed me but didn’t let on, let me know.

Around the Corner – w4w

What if we died in our sleep every night and the morning we woke up was a brand new life? Maybe our next life is when we wake up from our dreams and realize they could be real if we tried.
Maybe we take superficialities too seriously and not the little moments we can’t get back, but think about all of the time and crave more of.
Wanting and needing aren’t the same thing, but do you think they could go hand in hand? Wanting what you need and needing what you want. It’s basically a marriage of words and meanings that we can’t analyze with our minds, but feel so deeply with our hearts.
Watching and waiting, but never acting. That’s our mistake, but in another life when we wake up from our dreams and realize what is a dream could also be very real. We just have to wake up first. One day I do believe every beautiful dream will come true, but the question is do you too?

A zit on my face stopped me from saying hello to you. I’m an idiot.

There’s a Murder Coming to Richmond, and You’re Stuck on the Train

Virginia Repertory Theatre is kicking off its new season the way any sensible theatre should: with a train, a murder, and a detective who’s just trying to make sense of it all. Murder on the Orient Express is Agatha Christie’s great reminder that people are both awful...

Confederate Nostalgia, Black Voices: The Paradox of Polk Miller

Over a century ago, engineers from the Edison Company hauled their bulky recording equipment from New Jersey to Richmond, Virginia. In 1909, they captured one of the first interracial recording sessions in American history: Polk Miller, a white Confederate veteran...

The Felon Who Built Scott’s Addition

Before the beer taps and condos, before the buzzwords about ‘revitalization,’ Scott’s Addition’s future passed through the hands of a single man: Justin Glynn French. A convicted felon whose empire collapsed in scandal, he set the stage, even if unintentionally, for...

It’s Still Our City | Ep. 13 Stooping RVA

"The joy of finding a perfectly reusable gem on a sidewalk, in an alley, or on a porch stoop is one of the perks of living in such close proximity in the city of Richmond. The FOMO of not making it on your bike in time for a taxidermy dolphin or a surprisingly decent...
