We hope you have recovered from last month’s big Five Years in RVA Anniversary Weekend, because we’re back with what we love doing most – play amazing vintage Soul and Funk records for your dancing pleasure, all at 45rpm. Mr. Felty and DJ Pari both have lots of new wax in their boxes that is itching to be played at Balliceaux. Join us for a great time with great music and great footage from our Soul-A-Vision – this time on a Friday instead of our usual Saturday slot. As always, it’s FREE!

The Soulpower dance party kicks off at 10:30 PM on Friday, June 22 at Balliceaux (203 N Lombardy St). For more info, check out the facebook event page.

Plus, we’ve got another edition of DJ Pari’s Midnight Soulstice podcast, as originally aired on WRIR 97.3 FM, Richmond’s legendary low-power indie radio station. Pari’s been feeling the sounds of Sweet Soul music lately, so he’s got a two-hour set of Deep Soul Ballads for your listening pleasure. Like he says, “If you’re planning on making a baby tonight, this is your soundtrack.” How can you resist?
