And what are you to do? Well join them of course. All week RVA Mag has been celebrating our annual ode to Halloween with #HalloweekRVA, a week’s worth of events, parties, special beer releases, costume contests, haunted festivities and every other spooky soiree that you can think of that would scare the pants off the devil himself-if he wore pants.
If you haven’t made it out to one of our parties, there’s still time! This weekend is jammed-packed with horrifying festivities to get you into the spirit. So let’s jump right into what we have in store for you.
Tonight, Oct. 30, all who dare are welcome to the TERRORSCAPE known as the 2900 block of West Cary Street! Don’t Look Back will battle it out with the Portrait House of HORRORS! Seperate costume contests at each place at midnight with $100 going to first place and a HORRIFYING high five to second place! Drink & food specials to be determined, but they’re sure to be incredibly SPOOKY.

Movie Club presents NIGHT OF THE CREEPS w. SPORTS BAR + BIG NO at 9pm. $5 recommended donation for Video Fan Forever!
Firehouse Theatre Radio Players Present: War of the Worlds at Firehouse Theatre 8pm $8 advance. See them perform “The War of the Worlds,” Orson Welles’ legendary radio adaptation of H.G. Wells’ classic tale of invaders from Mars.
The Firehouse Theatre is also hosting Fright Night This devilishly cool musical revue featuring some of the city’s hottest talent is sure to be the perfect trick for everyone’s treat this Halloween season. Get set for a collection of music from 70’s and 80’s radio, television, and film…all mashed up and jam packed with costumes and choreography guaranteed to thrill, chill, amuse and delight! 8pm.
Pace and DJ Count Dakkula take over The Savory Grain. Halloween jams and deep cuts with Reggie Pace and DJ Count Dakkula!!. Costume Party! Hardywood Bride of Frankenbier-specially made for RVA Mag! 10 pm.
HALLOWEEN! SATURDAY OCT. 31st
Hardywood Park Craft Brewery will release Trickery, a stout aged in apple brandy barrels for 8 months for a smooth apple brandy finish. Warm caramel, blackstrap molasses, and chocolate covered cherries. 13.5% ABV. Starts at 2pm with a Hardywood-style Halloween party that’s sure to send shivers up your spine! You’ll also get to try Bride of Frankenbier on tap from the source!
Continental Divide Richmond will host a Monsters and Margaritas shindig featuring DJ MassFX with costume contests and drink specials.
Gallery5 & ALL THE SAINTS THEATER COMPANY will put on their spook-tacular 10th Annual Halloween Parade at 7pm. This years parade will include members from NoBS Brass Band, stilt walkers, Zombie String Band, 15 foot saints style matroyshka-madonnas, 5 person buffallos, moose, a celestial tribute party, honoring the moon and the stars as well as mother earth, celebrating migration with tribute refugee puppets. This is one event not to be missed!
Richmond Burlesque Revue Presents: The Return of the Creepshow Peepshow at Gallery5. There will be a number of performers revealing the things that go bump…and grind in the night!Experience queens of scream, devastating villains, and psycho go-go by Saffron Soleil and Zhora Nova! Costumes are encouraged- you can take part in the creepy costume contest. 9pm $15 advance, $20 at door.
