Join The Relief Effort! You Can Support Those Affected By Hurricane Helene in Boone, NC

by | Oct 2, 2024 | COMMUNITY

A grassroots initiative has been launched in Petersburg to assist residents of Boone, North Carolina, affected by Hurricane Helene.

Starting today, donations can be made at Old Towne’s Alibi located at 305 N Sycamore St, Petersburg, VA. Old Towne’s Alibi is partnering with RVA Roofing, Dance’s Sporting Goods, and the Coleman Family to provide support to neighbors in need through this relief effort.

On Friday, a caravan of volunteers will set out on an important road trip to Boone, NC, to help those impacted by the hurricane’s devastation.

A recent post from Old Towne’s Alibi’s Facebook HERE : The convoy heading to Boone, NC, this Friday is already gaining momentum! The first trailer has arrived on-site and will be unlocked at 7 AM. This means you can drop off donations before we officially open! We will only be accepting donations on Wednesday and Thursday to ensure the team can roll out Friday morning.

DF Lunsford Construction and Downtown Thunder have graciously donated their trucks, trailers, and time for the drive. Additionally, B&T Towing has stepped up to provide a third trailer and truck for the journey. It’s inspiring to see our local community come together for this cause!

Last night, Benny’s Tavern generously donated a significant amount of supplies and covered travel expenses for additional loads. The Apothic Company has been collecting donations all day, while Walter D. Witt Roofing and Thacker Ace Hardware have also joined in to accept contributions. A big shout-out to Dance’s Sporting Goods for their support and to The Coleman Family for sparking this entire community movement!
