BOUNCE 027 Marvin Nguyen “MARVelous Session 3”

Message from Marvin:

True House music is indeed about love. Giving love, making love, being in love, losing love, love dancing. House is a feeling and that feeling is love.

I am captivated by loving vocals and energetic melodic sounds. Inspired by djs such as Armin Van Buuren, Erick morillo,Avicii, Laidback Luke, Deadmau5, Axwell, the list can keep going but i’ll stop there. My first electronic scene was back in 04′ when Club FUR had their grand opening in D.C. Paul Van Dyk was their headliner. Ever since that day, electronic music took its turn on me and changed my perspective towards “energetic sounds.” 6 years later, friends gave me the name djMArv. Electro and progressive are my sound, it is upbeat and energetic, mixed with vocals that will marinate the crowd and then slamming basslines for fist pumping action. I believe house music is a wonderful way of listening to beautiful sounds, starting from giving love to making love then falling in love as well as losing love. Then there are people who love dancing. I dj because i share all of those, i let them hear what it feels like to own that sense, the ability to feel it when i play a track. House music is our feeling, and our feelings are best shared through loud speakers for happy feets.

In 2013, a two-day event transformed a neglected stretch of Norfolk, Virginia, into a pop-up arts district. It wasn’t a city plan—it was a vision. Volunteers opened temporary galleries in boarded-up storefronts. Food trucks rolled in. Sidewalks were painted with...
