Radio Rubber Room EP 46, Featuring The DJ Williams Projekt

by | Jan 25, 2012 | COMMUNITY

In episode 46 we had the pleasure of goofing off with the DJ Williams Projekt. These guys have a lot going on and have been a cornerstone of the music scene in Richmond over the last eight years. Like the epicenter of a musical web that spread throughout RichmondThe DJ Williams Projekt is comprised of musicians from the upper echelon of local talent. It was funny to learn that the whole band will be playing camp barefoot with other projects but not as the Projekt itself. Insanity ensued as the night progressed thanks to the de-facto Richmond mayor and owner of Mekong, An Mekong.

We were very happy that the guys drew some spontaneous inspiration from a member of our show. Everyone loves Simon’s Mom, but these guys loved her enough to write and preform a song dedicated to her, on the spot.

EP 46 includes RVA Music from Proverbial, Downbeat Switch, Muelle, The Dream Machine, Black Girls and No Dice. Enjoy!

The Felon Who Built Scott’s Addition

Before the beer taps and condos, before the buzzwords about ‘revitalization,’ Scott’s Addition’s future passed through the hands of a single man: Justin Glynn French. A convicted felon whose empire collapsed in scandal, he set the stage, even if unintentionally, for...
