Hey folks, are you ready to see some really over-the-top insanity, mixed with the kind of unadulterated goofiness that normally only comes from drunks rocking out in the front row of a set by a cover band at the state fair? Well, that’s what’s in store for you at the 2013 US Air Guitar Mid-Atlantic Semifinals, coming to you live at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC on Friday, July 19! Drawing its participants from qualifying rounds held in a half-dozen cities in this region of the United States, the Mid-Atlantic Semifinals will show all comers exactly how crazy air guitarists can get. Ludicrous rockstar outfits, hilarious poses, and death-defying onstage antics are the order of the day at the US Air Guitar competition, and with contestants at the Mid-Atlantic Semifinals competing for a chance to move on to the US Air Guitar Championships in LA next month, they’ll be pulling out all the stops to show who is the best. In addition, the evening will be hosted by Bjorn Turoque, the star of 2006 documentary Air Guitar Nation, and will feature a special performance from 2008 US and World Air Guitar Champion Hot Lixx Hulahan & defending World Air Guitar Champion Nordic Thunder. The entire evening is guaranteed to be a hilarious, rip-roaring good time, and you should definitely make sure you are there!
