Best of RVA Missed Connections 5/2/17-5/9/7

by | May 9, 2017 | WTF?!

Missed Connections did some navel gazing this week with posts that mused on the very nature of posting missed connections as well as positive reassurance from someone who claimed they found their own missed connection. Read on for more.

Too bad you can’t uncreep someone

Has anyone ever read a MC that you knew was for you and you knew who had posted it and even though you might have wanted to get to know the person better you just found it creepy and pathetic that they posted a MC about you so you start avoiding them as much as possible?

re: Too bad you can’t uncreep someone

You’re a jerk. Maybe the other person is nervous about talking to you, even more so about revealing how they feel. Maybe they express themselves better in writing, or maybe they’re afraid of being rejected. In other words, they’re normal human beings. YOU are the pathetic creep for trying to shame them. They’re probably lucky that you’re backing away from their innocent step forward.

Missed connection found – my 2% – w4m unhide

So, I know typically on here is a bunch of missed connections, but I felt like spreading some cheer. I have found my connection. He was right under my nose almost my whole life and we have finally “found” each other. To all those who feel like it’s hopeless, it’s not if you keep your heart open and treat people the way they should be treated. To my man, thanks for changing my life and showing me that life can be happy and simple. Even though I’m soooo old, I feel like life is just starting. I’m yours forever and 2 days!

Adrian from Cricket Wireless – m4m (Lombardy VCU) unhide

Thanks for being so helpful with helping me get a new phone after the charging port broke on my old phone. I was fortunate that your credit card machine broke because I was able to spend more time at your office. I wish I had the courage to tell you how adorable you are! Maybe I’ll come back and mention it.

Cute hippie-ish comic book girl – m4w (Forest Hill Stories/FCBD)

Long brown hair, 5’8-10″, around my height basically (I think), hoodie (zip-up?), jeans, flower belt or belt buckle, backpack/handbag, you asked me how things were organized in the store & we talked about Crossgen, Archie, Aspen, Neil Gaiman’s Sandman, and that terribly drawn Jon Snow. We exchanged names, you asked first, and I probably should’ve asked for more info but I’m lousy at reading those situations so either way I didn’t want to push it. Morgan, Margot, something starting with M? I could be totally off. If you do see this and remember what I wore or anything else we talked about let me know so I know it’s actually you.

White Guy-Spring 2010-Statistic Class at VCU – m4m

It was in Spring 2010 Semester at VCU, in a statistic class. You are a white guy, always sat with a girl near the front, and I always sat in the back near the door. However, each time when we get off classes. Your eyes stared at me like you said you wanted me. Although it has been seven years, but I still miss your staring at me. I have a photographic memory so I still remember what you look like back then. Please respond back with your picture, and tell me what race I am, and what were specials about our statistic teacher so I know it is you.

J. Holcomb at VCU in Mid-90’s (in class)

we had a class together in the business building, maybe fall of 93 or spring of 94. Anyway, thought you were incredibly beautiful and had a wonderful body. I’m just curious to see if this M/C thing would ever actually work. If you think this is for you, what is your 1st name. For an added bonus, maybe you will recall one of many conversations we had. you complained about the pool on Franklin St. and what affect it had on your swimsuits, what was that effect? If you get that correct, i’ll know it’s you!!

What Happened Before the Video?

There are two sides to every story, but a lot of the time, the first narrative is the one that sticks. Case in point: last week, an altercation broke out during one of the weekly neighborhood rides organized by the Broad Street Bullies. The ride has happened every...

What the Hell is VITCO? We Went to Find Out.

Editor’s Note: This story was produced in partnership with Virginia Transit Company (VITCO). There are few large-ish pieces of real estate in the city proper that have been more screaming for development than the fallow field bordered by Clay Street and Hermitage...

Can Ellwood Thompson’s Survive Its Owners?

What is Ellwood Thompson’s now? That feels like a fair question most people should be asking right now after this week’s news that the company that owns one of Richmond’s most recognizable stores is being taken over by another company whose primary business is data...

I Went to the Data Center Town Hall at Studio Two Three

Be Kind, Rewind! Welcome to Monster Video

On a hot day in June, while visiting The Veiled Mirror and talking with them about collecting old books and DVDs, I was told that next door would be opening as a VHS video store soon. All throughout July, several of my friends who knew of my movie library habit...
