Rockfalls – m4w (Tavern)

Many moons ago I met this beautiful bartender who thought I was cute and hit on me. Thought she just wanted a good tip. I continued to tell her that she didn’t want me. She said she wasn’t trying to get married. I fell in love after our first make out session. We had such a connection. I broke her heart time and time again. She gave me chance after chance after chance. Our dreams of being together forever were eclipsed with heartache and pain. I threw away the thing that means the most to me in life. I think about her everyday. I pray for another chance in this lifetime not the next. I know that love conquers all. She’s been so good to me and still is. I miss our laughs miss rubbing your back miss spooning. Miss kissing your face before going to work miss watching you walk. Miss so much. I’ve said it a million times. I’m sorry. I really am.

Waiter at Belle & James – w4m (Downtown)

I’m sure this is a long shot, but oh well! You were my waiter on Monday night but I wasn’t alone. I’d have definitely flirted more because you are really hot! Anyways if you see this and the interest is somewhat mutual, I’m here. —The Cider Chick

you bought lazer straight – w4m (parham road)

I was working at a hair salon on Friday afternoon when you called and asked how late we were open. I could tell over the phone that you were hot.

When you came in, I literally started sweating from standing so close to your hotness.

I know you go somewhere else to get your hair done, but I wouldn’t mind giving you a scalp massage. Let me know what color snapback you were wearing if you’re interested.

Walking on Sheppard this morning – m4m

You are a super handsome guy with a white mustache. I’ve seen you around before, often riding a bike. I was glad to see you this morning because you are so adorable and very sexy.

I doubt you read missed connections at all, but just in case you do, I want to let you know that I would love to get together some time. You have a sweet voice, based on the couple of times I’ve gotten to speak with you. Honestly, I doubt you remember me at all, but when I see you, I think about you the rest of the day.

Maybe we could meet up at five guys for a burger or something? I’ve seen you there a couple of times. I would be so turned on to just sit and talk with you. If anything else happened, it could only be icing on the cake.

You’ve got the most sparkly-eyed smile I’ve ever seen.

Man, I hope you see this and take it as a compliment rather than some creep stalking you. I just love it when I see you around and would like to do so more often.

British luxury – m4m (Short Pump/I-64 area)

It was around 4:55pm on yesterday evening. You were in the white Rolls Royce and I was in the blue Bentley. I passed you on the left and we exchanged glances and smiled/waved as we admired each other’s vehicles. I thought you were SOOOOOO cute with your little puppy with the pink collar, complimented your masculinity.

I definitely felt a connection. Tell me what model my car was and the color/breed of your dog so I know it’s you. Would love to meet for drinks or dinner (on me, of course), or I can have my chef whip us up a yummy meal. 🙂

Amrit, I was your Uber driver Sunday night… – m4w (RVA)

Hey, so…. I wrote this kinda dramatic Missed Connection the other night about you. I don’t know there was something about the energy when I was talking to you… Felt a bit intoxicating I guess.

Anyway, I thought a lot about you a lot and how magical you seemed and how easy it felt to talk to you, so I wrote this goofy missed connection…. then the first time I got on Tinder you were the first person to show up, and I was like no fucking way! Its some kinda greater force at work! So I hit Super Like on you!

Hahah… Anddd here it is several days later and no like back… So I really just want to say that I apologize for getting a little too caught up in the energy of your awesomeness, and I don’t want to be that “weird Uber Driver” story. My bad.

You do seem absolutely magical/amazing. And I wish you well. Sorry for any weirdness.

CM – missing you from Texas 1437 miles away – m4w (You know)

Courtney, come home. Its that time of year again. I know you’ve been receiving my messages. How else can I get your attention? You are the only one for me. Leave him. The world is your oyster, and you are my “pearl”. Come home. Respond with what “pearl” means and I will send you your flight info. Waiting to hear from you, as always.

Shopping for wine at Wegman’s on Friday Night – m4w (Midlothian)

I know this is shot in the dark, but what the hey, I’m curious. I left my cart in the middle of the aisle, not realizing I was blocking your way. We ended up talking a little bit about wine and I handed over a bottle I thought you might like based upon our conversation. I am very curious as to your thoughts. Was it good? I was rude in that I did not properly introduce myself, but I am curious if you liked it. Let me know the vintner in your response so I know it’s you.

There’s a Murder Coming to Richmond, and You’re Stuck on the Train

Virginia Repertory Theatre is kicking off its new season the way any sensible theatre should: with a train, a murder, and a detective who’s just trying to make sense of it all. Murder on the Orient Express is Agatha Christie’s great reminder that people are both awful...

Confederate Nostalgia, Black Voices: The Paradox of Polk Miller

Over a century ago, engineers from the Edison Company hauled their bulky recording equipment from New Jersey to Richmond, Virginia. In 1909, they captured one of the first interracial recording sessions in American history: Polk Miller, a white Confederate veteran...

The Felon Who Built Scott’s Addition

Before the beer taps and condos, before the buzzwords about ‘revitalization,’ Scott’s Addition’s future passed through the hands of a single man: Justin Glynn French. A convicted felon whose empire collapsed in scandal, he set the stage, even if unintentionally, for...

It’s Still Our City | Ep. 13 Stooping RVA
