University of Richmond Back to School Fashions Fall 2017

by | Sep 11, 2017 | FASHION

College campuses are back in full swing and bustling with students juggling hectic schedules and trying to get their bearings on a new year with new classes and new surroundings. Before it gets too chilly and everyone is sporting hoodies, yoga pants, and endless flannel to class, we thought we’d catch up with some current students to see what they’re wearing and what trends are in right now.

The first batch is students from University of Richmond:

Name: Emily Maanum
Age: 21
Major: History
Maanum on her style: “My style goals would be I think to dress my look up a little more, and work more towards buying things that really work for my body instead of focusing on the size.”
Their look: Emily’s style is very casual yet classic, with a lot of simple pieces that can go together – sometimes she likes to add a pop piece to her classic, comfortable look.

Name: Courtney Labreceque
Age: 20
Major: Science
Labreceque on her style: “I want to do something more different this semester – wear more jackets, I got a bunch of bomber and jean jackets. I want to mix it up, get pieces I can wear with a bunch of things.”
Their look: Courtney is from up north, so her look is definitely a bit sleeker.  She wears a lot of black and is more classic, but not preppy.

Name: Bri Park

Age: 20
Major: Political Science and Journalism
Park on her style: “I do a lot of shopping at Forever 21 for trendier things, like stuff that you won’t necessarily wear next year.”
Their look: Bri likes to wear a lot of colors and patterns. She loves sandals, and likes to wear things that are really bright and printed, and things that stand out.

Name: Cole Wenzel
Age: 22
Major: Physics
Wenzel on his style:  “I’m like a frat boy, but not as douchey.”
Their look: Cole also likes colors – he has a lot of crawfish clothes, mostly from Cajun Clothing Co. He doesn’t really have style goals, and is just trying to enjoy the sun in his Sperry’s.

Name: Logan Monk
Age: 19
Major: Math and Education
Monk his on style: “I’m trying to be comfortable this semester, but I also want people to be like – hey, that’s a cool graphic t-shirt.”
Their look: Logan loves graphic t-shirts, especially from places he’s been. This t-shirt is from a Logic concert Logan went to.

Name: Pierre Galloway

Age: 21
Major: Healthcare Studies
Galloway on his style: “I like keeping it funky, a little fresh.”
Their look: Pierre’s style is free — he likes wearing different patterns.  He likes to stand out and be different and doesn’t want to be like everyone else. He wants to make people feel like they can wear what they want to wear.
