Get ready craft beer lovers because another brewery is now ready to open its doors in Scott’s Addition.

We got word that Castleburg Brewery would be opening there on Ownby Lane about a year ago and have been anxiously awaiting for this Castle to lift its gates. And this Saturday, we will enter the majestic castle to sip on their fine brews.

Okay, maybe it’s not a castle, but there’s beer so that’s still cool. Homebrewer Karl Homburg is the owner and the brewery will operate on a a two-barrel system with a taproom

Homburg told RVA Mag last year that he’s holding onto quite a few tasty recipes that hopefully we will get a chance to try.

“The black IPA is my all time favorite,” he said. “I’ve got probably about 75 brews under my belt and I’ve got eight recipes that are award-winning recipes that will be coming out.”

He hopes to produce about 75 barrels for the first year and aims to start distribution in the second year.

Castleburg Brewery will be squeezing into an area already bursting at the seams with other breweries including Hardywood Park Craft Brewery, Isley Brewing, Ardent Craft Ales, and most recently, The Veil Brewing Co.

Castleburg Brewery is located at 1626 Ownby Lane and will open this Saturday, May 28th at 11 am.
