Pretty much what it says in the headline, folks; RVA alt-rockers Black Girls have put together a 90-second teaser video for their forthcoming third album, Claire SinClaire, which is due out in two months. We don’t know much else, but we can certainly show you the video, so here it is:

Pretty intense, right? And not just visually–the Caucasian men in Black Girls appear to have moved in a heavier, down n’ dirty rock n’ roll direction for their latest record, if this brief snippet is any indication. Perhaps having J. Roddy Walston And The Business around has lit a fire under their asses–no pun intended, of course. We have no idea if this video, directed by Trevor Frost and Black Girls drummer Stephen Farris, is a shorter piece of a forthcoming clip, or is intended to stand alone, but it’s certainly attention-grabbing enough to work all by itself.

We don’t have label details or pre-order info for Claire SinClaire as yet, so for now we play the waiting game. However, Black Girls fans are in luck, as the band will be playing two RVA shows within the next week. The first is on Friday, January 10, at The Camel, where Black Girls will be accompanied by Sleepwalkers, the latest project from former Duchess Of York leaders Michael and Austin York. Admission is $5, and music starts at 10 PM. For more info, click HERE. Then, next Friday, January 17, Black Girls will be at Balliceaux along with Charlottesville’s Borrowed Beams Of Light, a soulful indie-rock crew whose music should be quite pleasing to Black Girls’ many local fans. Admission for this show is also $5, and music starts at 10:30 PM. For more info, click HERE. As for Claire SinClaire, we’ll be keeping an eye out for further updates, so stay tuned!
