Recently, DJ Harrison and Corey Fonville, members of RVA’s funky instrumental group Butcher Brown, had the chance to be part of the backing band in an ASAP Ferg and Wiki music video.

The video was part of Complex Magazine‘s new series, “Complex City Cyphers”, where the publication travels to different cities showcasing rappers and other musicians.

The pilot episode, which dropped Wednesday, features New York rappers ASAP Ferg and Wiki along with Your Old Droog freestyle over music provided by jazz musician Christian Scott.

Keyboardist DJ Harrison and drummer Corey Fonville can be seen in the background doing what they do best and adding the beat and the soul to the hip hop cypher. The video was filmed in New York City.
