Clair Morgan just dropped a new track via NOISEY this week. And it’s dope.

The guitars at the beginning are killer and it builds suspense to keep you wanting more until lead singer Clair Morgan bursts in with his folksy-rock vocals. And it may sound light and breezy at first, but according to NOISEY’s interview with the band, frontman Morgan said the meaning goes much deeper than that.

“‘Rogue Island’ is about perspective shifts [and] how a different lens can dramatically alter how you see the same experience,” says Clair Morgan, the band’s leader. “It’s an odd sort of open letter to my parents. Since becoming a father, I’ve replayed moments back in my head and, of course, have so many questions about decisions my parents made and things I would do differently…”

Clair Morgan will release their second LP New Lions and The Not Good Night May 6th via Egghunt Records.

The band has a slew of shows coming up over this month through May. Catch them next Thursday, Feb. 18 at Strange Matter and the following Friday at Hardywood.
