Local hip hop duo Fly Anakin and Koncept Jack$on dropped some sweet visuals last week for “You Never Know,” a track off their collaborative EP, The Mandate: Side A.

Although a little hazy and dark, the message is strong and forceful. Tt shows the underbelly of the burgeoning hip hop scene and Anakin, Jack$on and friends around Richmond and kicking it at a house party. Anakin’s lyrics are raw, powerful and unapologetic. Jack$on doesn’t miss a beat eithe and comes in strong with his flow right after Anakin.

The beat is cool, chill and one to ride down the streets of Richmond to.

Their album, The Mandate: Side A was released back in August and its clear and that the two can work very well together musically. Their strong friendship even shines through in the video.

The album was produced by New Jersey producer GRiMM Doza and directed by Unlucky Bastards.

Prior to this, Anakiin dropped Elsewhere Ave. and most recently a video for “machinegunfunk.” Read more on that here.

The hip hop artist has an upcoming EP called Grand Scheme of Things that’s expected to drop by the end of the month so check back for details on that.

There is a rumored to be a secret show for a release party with an undisclosed location, but we will keep you in the loop once we know!

For now, sit back and enjoy the music and be on the lookout for an interview with Fly Anakin in an upcoming issue of RVA Magazine.
