Tuelo Minah –

Since moving to New York City several years ago, Tuelo Minah sang backup for the likes of South African composer Hugh Masekela, Paul Simon, Lebo M (Lion King composer) and the Beninese Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo. As a member of Angelique’s band, she can be heard on two of her most recent albums: Djin Djin and OYO.

Tuelo has performed at Central Park Summer stage, Carnegie Hall, Late Night with David Letterman, the Brooklyn Academy of Music and many other famed institutions in and around her current hometown NYC. As a soloist, she’s performed with the renowned Ethel String Quartet, the South African All Stars, and Juxtapower South African Song and Dance. As the leader of her own group. “Tuelo and Her Cousins,” she has played venues such as the Queens Museum of Arts, Desmond Tutu Center, American Folk Art Museum, Tavern on the Green, Yale University, the South African Food and Wine festival, Russel Simmon’s Diamond Empowerment Fund and the Metropolitan Opera to name a few. Tuelo and her Cousins perform multilingual, trance like songs that are a culmination of her cultural and musical influences.

NELLY KATE –

Nelly Kate is stirring a sound that will thrum in your bones and echo within the chambers of your heart. With haunting lyrics to light the way, she builds layered melodies that swell and descend like the hills she called home. Lilting, minimal and ever-imaginative vocals take us on an adventure where global conflicts and interpersonal struggles alike are touched upon with honesty and gravity.

It’s been a bit since you’ve had a chance to catch Kate live, and from what’s on her bandcamp, she’s gonna be well worth the show.

The tasting room opens at 4pm with a selection of seasonal drafts and Smokie JOE’S BBQ. Live music starts at 6:00pm.
