It’s Memorial Day Weekend and what’s a holiday or any weekend really without some music festivities?

Friday Cheers down at Brown’s Island has been up and running since the beginning of this month and we’ve already seen some great acts. But tonight, it’s all about the locals.

Headlining the bill for “RVA Music Night” include the soulful R&B/Jazz powerhouse Sam Reed, indie singer/songwriter Natalie Prass, and pysch-rock group Lady God.

With Reed’s This is Love, which dropped last May, the singer managed to fuse together gospel, hip hop, R&B, rock and even the blues into one album and it is beautiful and not a task that jus anyone can do. There’s something for everyone in her music and she really knows how to put on a funky, fun live show. Read up on her in RVA Mag’s interview with her here.

Prass released her debut self-titled EP in 2015 and her latest five-track EP Side by Side via Spacebomb Records in late November. Check out our in-depth interview with Prass here.

The unique, eclectic sound of local rockers Lady God has allowed them to make a mark for themselves in RVA’s music scene. Read about their rise to the top of their game and check out a little taste of all their music in our chat with them here.

Tickets for the RVA Music Night show are $5 and can be purchased here.
