Members of Iceland’s greatest export (beside Bjork, Raw Aluminium (32%), and Fish Fillets (16%)) have released early materials around a new movie they’ve scored and the soundtrack sounds like a return to the brutal noise Sigur Rós was best known for.

It’s been a number of years since I’ve enjoyed a release by Jón Þór Birgisson and friends, but hopefully this new movie OST, Circe, will buck that trend.

Sigur Rós-ers Georg and Orri – along with Hilmar örn Hilmarsson and Sigur Rós touring guitarist Kjartan Holm – provide audio for Circe which is 72 minutes of “eye popping” footage drawn from on a century of circus archive videos.

Told you it was weird. Have a look at the trailer below:

The movie has some festival dates you can find here, but the soundtrack will drop on Sigur Rós’s Krunk imprint on August 21st with 2x vinyl, CD and download – preorder here!.

When the Music Ends, The Bukit Hedz Begin
