Mix It Up With Hear RVA At The Hof

by | Aug 4, 2022 | MUSIC

Hear RVA is an ambitious new platform on the Richmond scene. Their stated goal, according to their website, is connecting “Richmond artists to the communities and resources they need to launch, promote, and expand their musical career.” But to do that, you have to meet the artists and community members where they’re at.

To that end, Hear RVA will be holding a mixer at The Loft in the Hofheimer Building, aka The Hof, this Sunday evening at 5 pm, sponsored by your friends at RVA Mag. What’s in store for this one? Opportunities aplenty for Richmond musicians, including the opportunity to meet a variety of vendors in the Central Virginia area, all of whom offer services tailor-made to help musicians grow and advance their careers.

But that’s not all — there’s a great slate of musical acts on the bill for all of us to enjoy as well. Artists include electro-soul singer-songwriter Kenneka Cook, lyrically brilliant hip hop flowmaster Chance Fischer, up-and-coming jazz/hip-hop diva Kaay Taurus, energetic rapper Jon Swaii, and DJ B-Rice of WRIR’s Mid-Atlantic Jams. This is a bill more than worth the price of admission, whether you’re there to do some networking or just enjoy the music. And even if you are there to make some connections, pausing to nod your head to the excellent jams is always a great choice.

There’s even more going on at this event, if you can believe that. For one thing, each admission ticket comes with a free raffle ticket, featuring prizes donated by local Richmond businesses. Best of all, all proceeds from both admissions and raffle purchases go to benefit community youth justice organization RISE For Youth.

As Hear RVA says, “The past couple years have kept us apart.” However, they hope this event can “be the magnet that pulls our local music scene back together.” It’s certainly a worthy goal, as is their stated mission to “be the tree that connects all the branches of Richmond’s music scene.” If you want to be a part of that effort, going to the Hear RVA mixer at The Hof this Sunday is a good way to start.

Tickets to Hear RVA’s Mixer and Fundraiser at The Hof are $20 in advance, $25 day of event, and include a raffle ticket with each purchase. Tickets are available at Hear RVA’s website, and if you get there today, August 4th, you can take advantage of the special “804 Day Sale” and get tickets for only $15. Jump on that one quick, though, because the sale ends in less than 12 hours! We’ll see you there.
