RVA’s Vinyl Conflict and Steady Sounds have once again united to bring the third installment of the Richmond Record Fair this Sunday to Hardwood Park Craft Brewery.

“It gives people in Richmond a neat experience to not see the same records they’re looking at every fair. We’re giving people something they don’t just see around town.” said Bobby Egger, owner of Vinyl Conflict and co-founder of the fair. .
Egger, along with Steady Sounds owner Marty Key created the fair in the fall of 2015.
“Some of our favorite aspects of record fairs that were a little bit further away than Richmond was that a lot of the vendors were from out of town and we wanted to do something where we could get a lot of our friends in and people we didn’t know as well from further areas than just Richmond,” said Egger.
The pair curated their own fair with an eclectic mix of 30 plus vendors from Richmond as well as vendors from out of town.
With a couple of fresh faces this time, the fair will provide an excellent space for people who share their love of music and collecting. There will be vendors selling everything from heavy metal to soul and funk to oddity alternative vinyls.
Egger and Key made sure to have a variety of music represented. “We try to bring as much of a mix as possible it’s not going to be genre specific at all,” Egger said. “Even though we have shops, I want it to be something that maybe people can’t find in town.”
The records span all across the price range, some selling for only $1 all the way to collectors selling expensive, rare vinyls you may never see again. You can peruse records with your calloused fingers as you sip on some fine Hardywood brews, who happens to be celebrating their 5th Anniversary this weekend.
And don’t worry, you don’t have to be an avid collector or own any rare, obscure records from the 60s to attend.
“If you’ve never started this could be a good way to get started and check some things out, to see what sort of variety is available on the vinyl format,” said Egger. “We’re just out here trying to raise awareness.”
The Richmond Record Fair is from 11-4 this Sunday at Hardywood Park Craft Brewery and will feature Hardywood’s craft beers along with food trucks from Boka Tako Truck & NYStyleFood Richmond. The fair will also feature a DJ line up from 1 to 5 pm.
