The last time RVA Mag gave you the scoop on the wild trio who make up psychedelic blues rock band People’s Blues of Richmond was back in May when they released a new track off their latest album, Quit or Die.

Since then, the boys have released the album, toured all over the country, even playing at a festival at the Red Rocks Amphitheater alongside Greg Allman. Talk about one hell of a year.

And they haven’t slowed down one bit it seems since we last checked in. PBR just premiered a new music video for their first single off the album of the same name, “Quit or Die” on Performer Magazine.

The video was recorded by Julian Ashbee at a live performance at The Broadberry back in January.

Many of the tracks off the new album are centered around the struggles and trials the band has gone through as well as battles with drug addiction. PBR premiered this track back in March via Consequence of Sound.

“The narrator has had troubles with drugs in the past and when you get to a certain point with some drugs, your tolerance is so high it’s dangerous,” guitarist and vocalist Tim Beavers II said, describing the song in an in-depth interview with us in May. “It’s playing with fire when your addictions start to get out of control, so compromise can be suicide if you’re choosing between quitting doing heroin or eventually accidentally dying of an overdose, than you compromise with your mind…saying, ‘fuck it I’ll do a little bit, that can kill you.”

In April, the band premiered the second track, “All the Things (I Couldn’t Say to You)” on Relix Magazine as well as “The House On Oregon Hill” on Verbicide, a song that pays tribute to where it all began for the band.
