Lucy Dacus, Richmond’s indie-rock darling and lyrical powerhouse, is back with her fourth solo album, Forever Is a Feeling, slated to drop March 28 via Geffen Records. This marks her first solo release since 2021’s critically acclaimed Home Video and follows her lauded work with Boygenius on their Grammy-winning project, The Record.
Dacus introduced the album with two standout tracks: “Ankles” and “Limerence.” The “Ankles” music video—a cinematic romp through Paris—sees Dacus rocking a striking red Rodarte gown as she charms her way past a hapless museum guard, played by actress Havana Rose Liu. It’s playful, stylish, and a perfect teaser for what’s to come.

The 13-track album is packed with high-wattage collaborations, featuring Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker (her partners in Boygenius), alongside Hozier, Blake Mills, Bartees Strange, Madison Cunningham, Collin Pastore, Jake Finch, and Jay Som’s Melina Duterte. The cover art, a nod to Renaissance religious iconography, is crafted by visual artist Will St. John.
To celebrate the release, Dacus is hitting the road for a North American tour kicking off April 16 in Philadelphia. The tour promises stops in major hubs like New York, Toronto, Nashville, Chicago, and Los Angeles, wrapping up on May 14. Opening acts include Katie Gavin of Muna and Saddest Factory signee Jasmine.4.T. Also, Dacus has teamed up with Plus1 to donate $1 from every ticket sold to the Plus1 LA Fires Fund, aiding victims of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.
Richmond is buzzing with hopes for a hometown gig.
