Those familiar with the New Brunswick, NJ, based punk/arena rockers shouldn’t be surprised when lead singer Marissa Paternoster’s powerful voice created such a unique version of the pop hit that it turned into the SECOND MOST VIEWED AV Club video on youtube. (Number one most viewed AV video is GWAR covering “Cary on my Wayward Son,” for the record)

After releasing their sixth studio album, Rose Mountain, earlier this year, Screaming Females are ready to hit the road and promote. Luckily, but unsurprisingly, folks seem generally pumped on the new relase.

Along with the tour announcement, SF has released a new video for the single “Empty Head,” featuring some pretty sick stop animation work. Check it out below:

As mentioned in the headline, the band is hitting the road for the second half of the summer, but it looks like they’re skipping RVA but hitting DC and NC. Bummer. Check out the full list of dates below, and head to their website for more ticket info:
