Psychedelic/grunge band BANDREW made up of all the Andrews in RVA, well maybe not all, but three of the coolest Andrews we know anyway, have been steadily working on some new tunes for us.

The trio, who came together in 2013, will drop their debut album In the Meantime June 25th at The Camel and the group was nice enough to let RVA Mag premiere a little sneak peek from it to hold you over until then.

It’s catchy and yet, I can’t quite place them into one genre. But I wouldn’t want to even try, that’s what makes them so interesting. There’s a little grunge, a little psych with some punk feel and I’m diggin’ it. You can’t pigeonhole their raw, gritty, city-dwelling sound they give you a little bit of everything so you better be ready for it.

Here is “Wondering if” on the band’s upcoming 10-track album:

Bassist Andrew Carper said this track was one of the first songs the band, which also includes guitarist/vocalist Andrew Bayne and drummer Andrew Sisk, wrote together and it has a fun little story behind it.

“Not only did each Andrew compose an entire section, but we even had input from our friend Karina on a small part and it got its title from RVA’s famous Miss Lady E, after we first debuted it at Emilio’s open mic a while back,” said Carper. “The theme of the song is in line with most of the songs on the album – feelings of uncertainty or indecisiveness, and trying to make sense of what’s around you as a young adult in a ever-changing world that feels impossible to keep up with.”

Catch BANDREW playing later this month at The Camel for their album release party alongside Imaginary Sons and A Woman is A Woman. Cassettes will be available and the band will also be digitally releasing the album. You can purchase tickets for $10 to the show through Jet Trails Media here.
