SUNDAY: Miniature Tigers At Strange Matter

by | Feb 18, 2011 | MUSIC

All of you fans of that modern strain of indie rock that combines lo-fi psychedelia with modern synthesizer sounds should sit up and take notice of this show. That’s right–Animal Collective fans, I’m talking to you. Brooklyn’s Miniature Tigers, who are touring to support their second album, Fortress, were at one time declared one of the 25 Best Bands On Myspace by Rolling Stone magazine. And regardless of the fact that such a designation now seems like a hilarious and depressing booby prize, these guys are still making some enjoyable music over five years later. For proof, check out this ridiculous video for their single “Bullfighter Jacket” (where’s Waldo, indeed):

In addition to the Miniature Tigers, the bill also features local indie rockers Parlour Shakedown, Black Girls, and Canary Oh Canary. You really can’t go wrong!

WHAT: Miniature Tigers At Strange Matter This Sunday!
WHO: Miniature Tigers, Parlour Shakedown, Black Girls, Canary Oh Canary
WHERE: Strange Matter, 929 W. Grace St.
WHEN: Sunday, February 20th, Doors open at 7 PM
ADMISSION: $8 in advance (tickets can be purchased at Strange Matter), $10 at the door
