Super Soldier Serum At Strange Matter This Friday

by | Jan 10, 2011 | MUSIC

On Friday January 14th, SlapDash will be throwing their next party at Strange Matter: Super Soldier Serum. It looks like they are bringing in the New Year with a big one this time. With a heavy roster of local hip-hop artists, the evening will feature the talents of many, but most notably in the headlining position, Nickelus F.

If you aren’t familiar with Nickelus F by now, you should be. At the age of 17, he began receiving attention from all over when he placed into the quarterfinals of the Source’s Unsigned Hype Emcee Battle in New York. He got his name out to an even greater audience when he appeared on BET, winning seven battles in a row, and placing into the Hall of Fame on 106th & Park’s Freestyle Fridays. But that was three years ago. Since then, Nick F has been garnering respect for his work as a songwriter too, releasing a slew of mixtapes but also two solid albums, Heathen and Season Premiere.

Expect to hear favorite songs from these last two albums plus a variety of fresh material that he has been carefully holding onto. Nickelus F has been hard at work and is getting ready to drop his new mixtape with local producer Brad Oh of Chocolate Milk. That tape will be called Yellow Gold, and should be released in the next few weeks. Curious minds can come get a small taste of it on Friday.
