Local bike courier, Quickness RVA, is making it easier for Richmond residents to receive locally-sourced, sustainable prepared meals at their doorsteps.
Ellwood Thompson’s has partnered with Quickness RVA by creating a meal menu, which includes a selection of 13 sandwiches and wraps, such as The Drunken Sailor, the Bacon, Spinach and Tomato Wrap, and a wild mushroom and field roast sandwich, as well as a variety of drinks and side dishes.
The menu offers a wide range of options for those with specific dietary needs and restrictions, including vegetarian, vegan, organic, carnivore and gluten-free dishes.
“We are excited to be partnering with Quickness to offer our healthy, locally made and sourced when available sandwiches, wraps, bowls and salads to the Richmond community,” said Colin Beirne, Ellwood Thompson’s Marketing Director Colin in a news release. “Not only are we pumped to be able to offer up delivery, but we are equally as pumped to partner with Quickness. It’s awesome to be able to work with a similar mission-minded, environmentally friendly, bike loving, local company.”
Sustainable transportation has long been the mission of Quickness RVA, one they have upheld after seven years of business and partnerships with nearly 40 restaurants and local grocery stores.
For Jess Izen, general manager with Quickness RVA, partnering with Ellwood Thompson’s was an easy, obvious choice.
“Ellwood Thompson’s is kind of a community staple,” Izen said. “They’ve been around for a long time, and I think we share a lot of values around environmental consciousness, around community building, and trying to support local businesses–in their case farmers, in our case local restaurants–and I think our values align well.”
While both businesses share similar missions and objectives, Izen also acknowledged the partnership makes sense from a business perspective.
“Their food is what our customers want,” Izen said. “Just healthy, organic, veggie and vegan options.”
Back in November, Quickness RVA partnered with Photosynthesis Floral Design and Rumors Boutique to offer its delivery services to local residents.
