Douglas Philip Jocham is a young photographer whose images of the Richmond area caught our eye back when he was still running the now-mostly-defunct North Lombardy tumblr. These days, he’s switched from capturing his environment with digital devices to shooting entirely on film, giving his work a recognizable aesthetic that is rare in this iPhone age.

These days, he’s switched from capturing his environment with digital devices to shooting entirely on film, giving his work a recognizable aesthetic that is rare in this iPhone age. This is the first of what will hopefully be many regular dispatches of Doug’s work here on RVA Magazine–a glimpse of the RVA landscape through his camera’s unique eye.
