Photographer Vincent Candela captured the energy of Vended‘s headlining nu metal show at The Canal Club on Friday night. With fierce support from Wristmeetrazor, Lie, and Half Past Dead, the venue was charged and ready for what would become a blistering performance.
For the uninitiated, Vended hails from Des Moines, Iowa, and was founded in 2018 by Griffin Taylor and Simon Crahan, the sons of Slipknot’s iconic members. Alongside bassist Jeremiah Pugh and guitarists Cole Epseland and Connor Grodzicki, they released their EP What Is It//Kill It in November 2021, along with several stand-alone singles. The band proudly embraces their self-taught origins, intentionally stepping out of the shadows of their famous fathers. They made their live debut in March 2020, only to be sidelined by the COVID-19 pandemic. In late 2022, Vended hit the road for a U.S. tour with Jinjer and P.O.D., continuing to carve out their own identity in the nu metal scene.
