Facing budget cuts, Richmond Animal control gets their tires slashed

Putting Richmond City Schools at the top of the budget list this yea was a no brainer, but that left other, less essential city services on the hook for filling in the gap. And for Richmond Animal Care & Control, that gap is about $43,000. And today, an employee walked in to find the agency’s trucks unusable cause someone slashed the tires on their work trucks. Happy Wednesday, Richmond.

“This morning I was so excited to get to work and share with each of you that we have raised $32,400 so far for the animals in our care!!! I was so touched by the community support and love, that it helped restore my faith in humanity,” wrote a RACC employee on the org’s facebook wall. “Then I got out of my car and saw that someone had cut all 4 tires on two of the animal control trucks and my celebration turned to disgust.”

“HONESTLY!! Who would do this?!?” the post asks. And we agree. Who the hell would do this?

Well the goodness is RACC is only a few grand short of their goal, well about 10 grand, but you get the point. And you can head over to their page here to donate directly.
