Back to school fashions at VCU (Fall 2015)

It’s August which means folks are heading back to school.

It’s August which means folks are heading back to school. We thought we’d catch up with some of the lovely student bodies around VCU’s Monroe Park campus and see what they’re wearing now before everything goes to shit and it’s all yoga pants, gym shorts, and sweatshirts.

Take a look at the people below and maybe keep these looks in mind so you don’t end up out of the loop:

Name: Alex Cerniuk

Age: 21
Major: Electrical Engineering
Quotes: “I’m trying to get away from cargo” “Always wear an undershirt”
Their Look: Cerniuk is trying to get into button downs, he also likes to make sure his belts and footwear match.

Name: Aryn Jeannette

Age: 19
Major: Glassblowing
Quotes: “Don’t wear those stupid animal hats in the winter”
Their Look: Jeannette tries to wear things that accentuate her 2 tattoos. She has the tree of life tattooed on her shoulder and the phases of the moon on her arm. She says that black clothes are a go-to but she likes to have subtle light blues.

Name: Brigitte Sandoval

Age: 20
Major: Health Science
Quotes: “Just rock what you want”
Their Look: Sandoval works for a clothing booth selling fair trade clothing from Guatemala. She likes comfortable clothes with neutral colors. Though she sometimes likes to add a little pop she prefers earthy tones.

Name: Clarisse Gaillard

Age: 21
Major: Graphic Design
Quotes: “I like to look preppy with punky accessories”
Their Look: Gaillard enjoys clean looks. Polos that she’s obtained from thrift stores are good but enjoys them in primary colors or black and white. She says that platform shoes are a must and as long as you take inspiration from people you admire you’ll do great.

Name: Daniel Diasgranados

Age: 19
Major: Photography/film
Quotes: “Look at what everyone else is doing and do the opposite”
Their Look: Diasgranados sports comfortable t-shirts and enjoys mixing and matching opposites. He likes off-white and neutral colors to express him.

Name: David Berdish

Age: 20
Major: Marketing
Quotes: “Do your own thing, if you have confidence and rock it, do it.”
Their Look: Berdish is a comfort driven guy. Colorful joggers are part of his look but he has no problem throwing on whatever.

Name: Kelly Hicks

Age: 21
Major: Kinetic Imaging
Quotes: “Get a tumblr and follow fashion blogs”
Their Look: Hicks speaks her mind through her versatile outfits describing them as “a little garish and a little loud.” She also wants the world to know that good lipstick that works with an outfit goes a long way.

Name: Kess Felton

Age: 19
Major: Pre-Nursing
Quotes: “Wear what you want to wear. No matter what people say”
Their Look: Hair is very important to Felton. Though at times she’ll find herself leaving her hair the way it is she says “if my hair isn’t right my outfit is not right.” Necklaces with sentimental value are important to her but likes to wear long gold ones as well. Black and white clothing with blue accents are some of her favorites.

Name: Kieran Wess

Age: 21
Major: Biology
Quotes: “Do research before you get into it.”
Their Look: Not a lot of people can pull off sunglasses but Wess wears them well. He likes blue black slim fit clothing and often shops at express.

Name: Oluoma Chukwu

Age: 20
Major: Psychology
Quotes: “Make sure it’s you”
Their Look: Chukwu is inspired by her surroundings. Though her hair is the most important part of her outfits she tries to use her environment to decide what to wear.

Name: Zoe Brzezinski

Age: 21
Major: Painting and Printmaking
Quotes: “Don’t go to the mall”
Their Look: Brzezinski has her own unique style. She enjoys thrifting and wearing old things, specifically bags and shoes. To go with her retro boots she enjoys wearing lots of patches. She’s against going to the mall and prefers getting used clothing from thrift stores.
