Our cup is overflowing with news this week, but first head over here to check out what awesome brews were released in Richmond last weekend.

We’ve got new beer releases, special holiday and seasonal brews, special events for to take your mind off politics so hold on to your mugs because we’re getting ready to tap this thing!

First off, check out RVA Mag’s guide to Black Friday specials at local breweries. They’ve got some sweet deals this year so snap those up while you can.

This Friday November 25th, The Answer Brewpub is doing a second release of Good Nightmare Mekong!
Brewed in collaboration with Cigar City Brewing, GNM is an imperial stout brewed with Vietnamese coffee and vanilla, then treated with coconut and cinnamon. The coffee was hand-selected and roasted by Master Roaster, Mike Jarrett, of local Iron Clad Coffee Roasters. In addition, they’ll be tapping 3 other stouts.

On Saturday, Hardywood will release its Rum Barrel Gingerbread Stout variant. Limit of 4 bottles per person.

On Monday Nov. 28, Garden Grove will host another taproom dinner this time featuring Chef Kevin Church from Postbellum. Five courses of seasonal new american cuisine will be matched with five brews in our comfortable, casual taproom setting. $38, grab tickets here.

Also this week Carytown Brown comes back on draft and a new release: “In Bloom” a deliciously floral & fruity Belgian Pale Ale crafted with Duvel’s yeast and a plethora of US & UK hops

And a big event to watch out for is r Iron Dog Fest, an all day event Garden Grove is hosting with RVA Magazine to benefit Gracie’s Guardians. GG will release their 100th beer, a collaborative brew with us called “Old Iron Dog”. There will be live music, food, a raffle, a silent auction, and of course the beer tapping! More details here.

As mentioned in our Black Friday post, Center of the Universe will release its Shut Up brew, an imperial stout aged in bourbon and red wine barrels.

Today, (Wednesday) Three Notch’d Brewing will bring back

Castleburg Brewery will be opening at 1 pm on Black Friday for the release of their newest brew, DARK AGES. Dark Ages is their Silver Medal Winning Bishop’s Brown Ale, turned IMPERIAL.

Legend Brewing will have a special on their newly released Chocolate Porter on Black Friday.

Triple Crossing will release Valhalla, the fourth DIPA in their Lockout Series on Saturday.

The entire weekend, Lickinghole Creek will host its third annual Coat Drive to support the Goochland Free Clinic and release 12th Night. Please bring a gently used coat to donate to a person in need in our community. 12th Night is Back – The Definitive Christmas Celebration Beer Returns! The brew is a spiced Belgian-Style Quadrupel Ale clocking in at 11.2%.

“1611” returns to Steam Bell Beer Works this Saturday. This 6.3% Ale was created especially for Hops in the Park and uses 100% ingredients including Virginia grown malts, hops grown at Henricus Historical Park, a locally foraged yeast, and Nelson County sorghum syrup.
