FRIDAY: Anduin At Ghostprint Gallery

by | Feb 17, 2011 | MUSIC

While Jonathan Lee might be recognized by most Richmond show-goers as the keyboard player for Souvenir’s Young America (and a smaller minority might even remember him fronting Tennessee hardcore bands like Dead City and The People’s War), in recent years Lee has released several albums of eerie experimental electronic music under the name Anduin. Combining electronic elements with found sounds into sinister sonic landscapes, Lee manages to separate himself from legions of electronic artists whose stage show consists of the musician staring at his or her laptop by utilizing lighting and wooden structures he has built himself, and through the use of video projections by other artists. He will debut his newest release, XXVII, on Friday, February 18th at Ghostprint Gallery. The album features new studio and live tracks, collaborations with Richmond-based sound artist Stephen Vitiello and Swedish ambient musician Jasper TX, and a collection of videos.
