It seems that Emilio’s isn’t just your local neighborhood jazz bar. On Saturday June 16th, Emilio’s in the Fan will be showcasing an acoustic punk showcase, featuring Joe McMahon from Smoke or Fire and Brett Adams from The Riot Before. Smoke Or Fire are a Richmond punk band by way of Boston. Their last LP was released nearly two years ago, and they’ve been keeping a low profile lately, but they’re due to make a rare local appearance opening for Planes Mistaken For Stars in August. This acoustic show will be a perfect opportunity for those who are tired of waiting to get a taste of the heartfelt, anthemic punk rock that Smoke Or Fire have been dishing out for over a decade now.

The evening will also feature a performance by Brett Adams former leader of The Riot Before, a Richmond punk band that formed in 2003 (photo by Andrew Norman) and ended late last year. Brett’s moving to Portland very soon, so this may be the last chance you’ll get to see him perform here in RVA for a long time. Don’t miss it!

WHAT: Acoustic Punk Performance
WHO: Joe McMahon (from Smoke or Fire), Brett Adams (from The Riot Before)
WHERE: Emilios in the Fan, 1847 W. Broad Street
