He brought back documentation of this excellent, energetic take on “Settle Down,” Goldrush’s forthcoming single on MAD Dragon Records. We’ve told you a little bit about this unique single, which will be part of the “Making Moves” series of singles brought to the world by Motion City Soundtrack and MAD Dragon, but before now, we hadn’t been able to hear it in all its glory. Fortunately, last Thursday, the day before this performance was filmed, the mp3 was premiered by Baeblemusic.com, so once you watch this video, you can go there and dig the Drexel University studio sound (spoiler: it’s great). But you should really check out the video before you head over there, because nothing proves the greatness of a song or a band like its ability to bring it to you live. This video shows that Goldrush has the ability to do that and then some–from Matt Gold’s awesome bass runs to Prabir Mehta and Treesa Gold’s falsetto harmony vocals and of course to the explosive final minute of the song, this video is awesome from start to finish, and proves that Motion City Soundtrack made a good choice when they decided to work with these guys.
