Attention music fans of all stripes–an amazing event is going down in Washington DC tomorrow, and regardless of what genre you typically prefer, there’s going to be something you’re interested in seeing going down. DC’s own electronic music pioneers Thievery Corporation are taking over DC’s Half Street Fairgrounds to throw an all day party featuring a variety of live performances, DJs and more! Thievery Corporation’s last live performance of the year, complete with full backing band, is of course the big news here, but in addition to their set, you get full sets from two other amazing bands–New York’s gypsy punk maniacs Gogol Bordello, and California funk-soul group Michael Franti & Spearhead. Plus, acts from Thievery Corporation’s ESL label, such as Congo Sanchez, The Funk Ark, and The Archives will all be performing opening sets. And there’ll be DJs on hand, including Thomas Blondel of Rhythm & Culture, as well as plenty of non-musical delights, such as food trucks, cold beverages, pop-up shops, and assorted free stuff. It’s going to be a great way to spend the last Saturday of the summer, so head on up to DC bright & early tomorrow morning, and get ready for a great day of fun, sun, and music!
