You might think of the blues as a genre dominated by old men playing songs about things that happened a hundred years ago, but if there’s one thing that the sensational young musicians of People’s Blues of Richmond have proven to the actual citizens of the city otherwise known as RVA, it’s that the blues is alive and kicking here in the river city. And tonight, PBR dishes out a whole new round of their vital, energetic, and completely inimitable rockin’ rhythm & blues in the form of their latest album, Good Time Suicide, which they’ll be selling for the first time at their show tonight at The Camel.

The CD is actually available with your paid admission into the club, and since the cover charge is only $7, that’s quite a deal–especially since you’ll also get the amazing live stylings of these four wild n’ crazy young men, which have become widely heralded over the last four years of constant gigging by the band, both in RVA and beyond. That’s not to mention the quality opening sets you can look forward to from DC soul/blues trio Mission South and buzzworthy homegrown folk-rock favorites The Northerners.
