A few weeks ago we brought you the first video from up-and-coming RVA new wave revivalists Cosby. Now the brothers Cosby have premiered two more tracks from their soon-to-be-released debut album, In Flight. Their relatively stripped down lineup–featuring Cosby brothers Chip on guitar and Chris on keyboards, along with Josh Santamaria of fellow brother act The Santamaria Brothers on drums–is no impediment to the lush sound displayed on “Light Of Day” and “Tightrope.” The former builds slowly from its quiet, moody opening, in which rich synth layers mix with acoustic guitar strums and reverbed-out vocals from Chris. Eventually it reaches an epic crescendo that makes us think of The Killers crossed with Joshua Tree-era U2. “Tightrope” is more upbeat, with a quicker tempo and ringing guitar leads from Chip. This track definitely has the most energy of what we’ve heard from Cosby so far, and will probably sound great in a live setting. Check out both tracks below:

Cosby will be performing this Saturday, October 26, opening for reunited RVA pop punk godfathers Fun Size at The Camel (1621 W. Broad St). The show will also feature sets from NYC’s The Challenged and young RVA musicians The Weather. Doors open at 8 PM, and admission is $7. The whole show will be a blast, so get there on time and dance all night! For more info, click here.
