This is a momentous occasion. Neutral Milk Hotel, who changed the game with their 1998 indie-rock masterpiece, In The Aeroplane Over The Sea, spent most of the past 15 years in hibernation mode. But now they’re back! Those who saw their first reunion tour when it came through The National last October sang the praises of the reunited Aeroplane lineup’s performance–which we hear was just as incredible as their vintage late 90s performances, like this one of “Oh Comely,” live at the Knitting Factory in 1998:

Now those who weren’t able to snag tickets to last fall’s Richmond show (which sold out lightning-fast) will have another opportunity to catch Jeff Mangum and his original backing band live on the big outdoor stage at Merriweather Post Pavilion–which we assume will not sell out nearly as quickly as The National did. Having said that, we don’t recommend you sleep on grabbing tickets to this show. It may be over four months away, but a sellout still might happen, so start scraping your cash together now!
