Fugitive 9, “I of Eyes”

by | Feb 3, 2014

If you don’t know, Fugitive 9 is a collective of MC’s from the 757 who actually do put on a good show. I would know, as I did bring them to Richmond for a Face Melt Friday at Strange Matter, and they killed it.

If you don’t know, Fugitive 9 is a collective of MC’s from the 757 who actually do put on a good show. I would know, as I did bring them to Richmond for a Face Melt Friday at Strange Matter, and they killed it. They even made XXL’s site last year when they opened for Blu up north. The idea behind this video is to capture that frantic energy and to hit you from all angles visually while they get at you lyrically. That being said, this video is a mix of footage in color and in black and white, and while the black and white scenes are clear, a lot of the color stuff is somewhat dark and its kind of hard to make out who is who or what’s happening. Lyrically, though, these guys rock the track; especially the last verse, which combines a rapid-fire delivery with lines like “Sicker than dressing up like I’m Hitler at Bah Mitzvahs”–quite the punctuation. If you like that old school, style-but-with-substance crew-type shit, even if this one doesn’t satisfy you visually, audibly, it will.
