The Revivalists are coming to the Jefferson Theater–and you can see them for free! This band may have seemed to come out of nowhere in recent months, but in actuality, they’ve been laboring away for most of the past decade in pursuit of the career zenith they’ve just recently reached.

The Revivalists are coming to the Jefferson Theater–and you can see them for free! This band may have seemed to come out of nowhere in recent months, but in actuality, they’ve been laboring away for most of the past decade in pursuit of the career zenith they’ve just recently reached. This New Orleans seven-piece takes strong influence from the musical culture that drives their home city, integrating funk rhythms and jazz instrumentation with an epic prog-rock sound that resembles Kings Of Leon or even the Mars Volta at times. The result is a potent musical concoction that will appeal to fans of many different strains of alternative and underground rock sounds. Their second album, City Of Sound, was picked up and reissued by Wind-Up Records a few months ago, and is a great showcase for their wide-ranging stylistic explorations. Check out their single “Navigate Below” for proof:
