NBC 12 has scraped the barrel and managed to find a local business owner who hates the Richmond Mural Project.

The business owner’s name isn’t listed in the NBC 12 story, but NBC reporter Chris Thomas found a passer-by, Lindsay Kildoff, and her 6-year-old daughter who agreed. The two think the Richmond Mural Project is “out of control” with one mural, Taylor White’s new piece on Belmont Ave., as the focus of their distain.

More from NBC12:

“It’s the first thing she noticed when we got out of the car,” said Kildoff. “She said Mom look at that over there. That’s inappropriate.”

“City mural projects are out of control,” wrote the business owner. “Carytown’s latest pornographic mural is posted next to the front door to my office. Decapitated woman spread eagle painted to side of building. 15 South Belmont Ave on the side of the Design Center of Richmond. City has nothing in place to regulate these murals. Families and children frequent area.”

Here’s the mural in question:

And here’s NBC’s story:

The concerned business owner complained the city has “nothing in place to regulate the murals” and “Families and children frequent area.”

Evidently the business owner and Kildoff wish Richmond was the town from Footloose

Do you think White’s mural is too racy for Carytown? Let us know in the comments below.
